Anybody catch the Hope for Haiti Now Global TV Telethon that George Clooney helped orchestrate? If you turned on the TV at all, you probably did, since it seemed nearly every single station had it on, which is awesome. I caught a few minutes of it and what I saw was entertaining and touching enough and it was both rare and special to see television outlets put aside their ratings war for a night in order to help out these people in Haiti that are in desperate need. Almost all of them major news networks aired this besides, predictably, Fox News, which is the number one rated “news” network out there. Just take a look at the list of stations that did participate, courtesy of Crooks & Liars:

CBS, ABC, NBC, CW, FOX, TNT, Weather Channel, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, HBO, Showtime, Major League Baseball Network, Style Network, E! Entertainment Network, ReelzChannel, Comedy Central, Oxygen, Soap Opera channel, Bravo, National Geographic Channel, Sleuth, G4, CMT, TV1, BET, MTV, MTV2, VH1, GMC, FUSE, Current, PBS

Nope, but not Fox News. I can just see ’em now.

“What about this Hope for Haiti crap?”
“Oh, all the other networks will air it. Nobody cares about that anyway. Didn’t that happen a week ago? Let’s just throw on some reruns of Hannity.”

Apparently, there were more dire situations to report on for the number one news network.
