Bottled water is one of those crazy American traditions. Before moving to the US I never touched it. For fifty years, my water came from the kitchen tap. My wife (American) refuses anything but bottled water, and now I drink it myself after noticing a scummy brown deposit leaching from our local water supply. I’ve almost convinced her to invest in a decent water filter, though, so hopefully plastic bottles will soon be obsolete in the Adam’s household. I agree, the whole concept is utterly absurd; a brilliant example of public relations marketing. Thank you, Edward Bernays!
